Lockdown Browser Extension
is Active for Chromebooks!

Live Proctoring is Available as an Exam Setting

Details: It is no longer necessary for instructors to enable the Chromebook option in the exam settings.

To install LockDown Browser for Chromebook

• Start the Chrome browser after logging into the Chromebook device
• Log into Canvas LMS using a student account, and navigate to the exam that requires LockDown Browser
• Select the link to download and install LockDown Browser
• From the Chrome web store, select “Add to Chrome” to install the LockDown Browser Extension

Details: ​The new “Instructor Live Proctoring” option uses LockDown Browser to prevent cheating on the computer itself, while the instructor watches students via video conferencing such as Webex Meetings. This method is only recommended for small class sizes where instructors can effectively observe and track students during the exam.
