Give Students A Break -Use A Different Tech Tool

Fall is finally here! After the brutal Arizona summer, we are ready for CGCC soccer, sweater weather, college football, pumpkin spice latte, and midterms! We know some are more ready than others, so students will appreciate extra help to prepare for midterms.
With Chandler, Gilbert, and Queen Creek School Districts out of school October 2-13, and ASU on break October 7-10, students may be experiencing fall break envy and need to take some power naps to keep up the momentum.

This may be the right time to give your students a break, change things up, and try using a different tech tool. You might try an easy, low-tech tool such as a QR code or bring back a familiar favorite, such as Kahoot!

QR Codes are a type of barcode, or scannable pattern that are easy to create and can quickly:

Provide access to course content, such as directions, assignments, slides, or websites.

Connect students to online collaborative documents (e.g., Google Docs, Google Slides).

Assess student learning and link to online quizzes, polls, and surveys (e.g., Mentimeter, Google Forms, Poll Everywhere, Kahoot!).

Using Google Forms in the classroom can be a game changer!
In addition to being an efficient way to survey students, they can also be used for engagement, assessment and data collection. To create a form, go to Drive > Forms > Start a new Form > (Blank, Quiz, or other Template)
