DIGITAL LEARNING DAY IS ALMOST HERE...
Next Tuesday, 2/22/22, is Digital Learning Day - and your CGCC Faculty are ready to share!
When we reached out to faculty in January about their "must have" teaching tools and strategies, one thing that stood out to us was the number of respondents who shared Google tools (Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Add-ons, Meet, Gmail, Jamboard, ...) as the one item that they couldn't live without.

So next week, in honor of Digital Learning Day (although we're offering two sessions in order to accommodate more people's schedules, so it's really more of a Digital Learning Week...), we have a cohort of faculty who have offered their time and expertise to share their experiences with a variety of Google Tools:
  • Alix Burack, Google Meet
  • Chris Koeth, Google Docs
  • Teri Moser, Google Jamboard
  • Maryellen Ohrnberger, Google Drive/Docs/Slides
  • Fanny Silvestri, Google Drive (organizing student groups)
  • Jeff Simpson, Google Slides (preformatted slides for assignments)
  • Karen Villalobos, Google Slides (Choice Boards)
  • Jennifer Voss, Google Slides (Virtual Escape Rooms)
  • ...and more!

Sessions will be held remotely, via Webex:
  • Tuesday, 2/22/22 | 2pm-3pm
  • Thursday, 2/24/22 | 1pm-2pm
Some of our panel members will share their information asynchronously, while others will join us in real time during next week's sessions.
To get you in the swing of things for our special Google-themed Digital Learning Day (Week?), we have for you:
  1. a prerecorded conversation with Creative Writing adjunct faculty member, Alix Burack, as she shares her experiences using Google Meet.
  2. An article from Faculty Focus, "Using Google Tools to Enhance Course Delivery." If you prefer a PDF, click on the image below for a downloadable version!
