Communicating the essentials to students

We encourage you to think, throughout the process of developing your hybrid course, about what makes a hybrid course special/beneficial to students and their learning. For that purpose, we ask Hybrid Summit Participants to create an "elevator pitch" to sell their course, in under 3 minutes (yes, it's a slow elevator. Or a very tall building), to a prospective student. The pitch is either in the form of an infographic, or a video that is 3 minutes or less.

Keeping in mind the benefits to students throughout the development of the course will help keep you focused on their learning process. We want to show you some tools that we recommend, and then share some great sample pitches from our Summer 2021 participants!

Great tools for creating short "micro" lessons
While the Hybrid Summit task was to create a pitch to prospective students, explaining the benefits of taking their course as a hybrid, this approach can also be used to create bite-sized lessons that make your content more approachable. You may want to check out these tools and see if any of them will work for you!

You can use these "choose your own adventure"-style Google slides to look only at the tools that interest you, or we have provided this same information by type of tool:
