This past summer, as part of the Hybrid Summit training, participants invested time into mapping out their course calendars so that students would have a clear understanding & expectation of the path that they would follow over the semester. For those who were interested during the Summit, we provided a variety of blank calendar templates for their use - now we would like to share these resources with all of you! While the samples that we have provided came from Hybrid courses, the templates can certainly be modified to fit your teaching modality. Schedule Sample/Template #1
This sample from Principles of Microeconomics was originally created in Excel, then saved as a PDF. The primary advantage to laying out the schedule in Excel is that you can use formulas such that all you need to enter is the starting date for the new semester, and the remainder of the dates will auto-populate! This Childhood Development sample is a Google doc, rather than a spreadsheet; this makes it easy to edit. You can see that the schedule is color-coded so that students can easily distinguish the different course components. PSSST! Hot off the presses...
