The CTLA facilitated 10 Base Camp Training sessions over the summer, and the key element was YOU! Hundreds of faculty went through the training, and you all organized, explored, questioned, and created. You also wanted MORE... survey respondents provided us with feedback regarding topics they'd like to learn more about in this upcoming year, so be on the lookout for more great workshops and development opportunities.
For this week, as you are getting ready to launch your classes - many of you teaching online for the first time - I wanted to respond to one request that we heard repeatedly throughout the summer: How do I deter cheating online?
The timing on this couldn't be better, because I discovered that Faculty Focus (a resource for teaching in higher ed that we have shared before) has an excellent collection of articles on this precise topic! Some of their posts deal with the data, some deal with online testing, some with plagiarism, and some with strategies to encourage academic integrity. The PDF below is a compilation of several of their articles, which we here at the CTLA hope that you will find useful!
Happy Tuesday, Everyone!
