What is GEAR UP?

Gear Up: Essentials for First Week Preparedness is an online workshop which provides faculty with the basic tools and resources to begin planning for the first week of an in-person, hybrid, or online course. Participants will enhance their ability to establish an inclusive and student-friendly learning environment through effective pre-semester and first-day preparation activities prioritizing student success and retention, regular substantive interaction among students and instructors, and providing resources for effective navigation and engagement within the course.
